Guided by Lucie and Luke Meier, Jil Sander cultivates an environment of modern elegance, seamlessly transitioning between genders while upholding the brand’s foundational minimalist aesthetic. Each collection is marked by a tranquil charm, and yet the designers embark on a journey of continual transformation. With the arrival of cooler days, Jil Sander’s focus shifts to these elements in their Fall/Winter 2023 campaign.
The emphasis of Jil Sander’s Fall/Winter 2023 array lies in individual articulation. Illustrating its significance, Lucie and Luke Meier collaborated with American DJ, record producer, composer, and techno pioneer, Jeff Mills. Together, they illuminate the essence of the latest attire, joined by models Kiki Willems and Dara Gueye.
“The collection clashes genres,” the Meiers shared. “A reflection of our desire to embrace information exchange, openness, and cross-pollination, to merge the archetypes of women’s and men’s wardrobes, to create a true space of self-expression.”
Mills, expressing his perspective during the unveiling, articulated, “As I became interested in music, I was also really interested in fashion… As a musician, I can look at that, turn to music and think about the same type of topics: the shades, the colours, the textures and translate it into sound, even considering the silence after sound.”

The campaign, captured in Manchester by filmmaker Stephen Kidd and photographer Chris Rhodes and styled by Poppy Kain, is characterized by visuals soaked in rich tones, exuding a blend of liberation, authenticity, and lightness with an innovative touch. Every image, whether focusing on the backdrop or apparel, is adorned in colors like crimson, honeysuckle, flamingo, dusty sage, tangerine, and stone gray. These colors beautifully harmonize with the textures, patterns, and contours of the Fall/Winter 2023 outfits, presenting a glimpse of the diverse outerwear, tailored pieces, dresses, and beyond.
