In a dazzling display of glamour and style, Dutch sensation Imaan Hammam has become the quintessential cover girl for Elle US’ August 2023 issue. Hammam, in a testament to her magnetic charm, has been bestowed the honor of adorning not one, but two awe-inspiring covers.
Under the artistic eye of photographer Chris Colls, Hammam mesmerizes in an exquisite Armani Privé gown, accentuated by a dazzling Van Cleef & Arpels necklace on the first cover (above). The second cover offers a striking contrast, with Hammam embodying an audacious spirit in a Fendi Haute Couture bralette and accompanying earrings, with a New York Vintage corset (below).
The cover story, curated by fashion editor Alex White, presents Hammam in an array of breathtaking haute couture pieces. The expansive portfolio includes brands like Schiaparelli, Valentino, the innovative Jean Paul Gaultier by Haider Ackermann, Elie Saab, Alexandre Vauthier, Christian Dior, Miss Sohee, Wolford and Chanel, all epitomizing the pinnacle of couture sophistication.
With exceptional hair styling by Hos Hounkpatin, flawless make-up by Frank B, and artistic manicure by Maki Sakamoto, Hammam’s beauty is amplified. Marla Weinhoff Studio’s creative set design, coupled with Serlin’s seamless production, adds the final touches to this spread.
Imaan Hammam, the 26-year-old top model, is redefining beauty standards and making waves in the fashion industry. Born to a Moroccan mother and Egyptian father in Amsterdam, Hammam has become one of the most sought-after faces in fashion, all while staying true to her roots and faith.
Hammam’s journey to top model status began at the tender age of 13 when she was scouted. She signed her first contract at 16, and her career took off. She has graced the runways for Jean Paul Gaultier and Riccardo Tisci, appeared on numerous magazine covers, and starred in campaigns for Chanel and Versace. Recently, she became the newest face of Estée Lauder, a dream come true for Hammam, who sees it as a significant step towards representation in the industry.
Despite her success, Hammam has faced challenges. She has struggled to balance her faith and career, often finding herself in the middle. However, she remains proud of her Muslim identity and uses her platform to share her experiences. “Being Moroccan-Egyptian, being Muslim – that alone is already helping so many people“, she says.
Hammam’s 2023 plans include learning a new language, applying for Global Entry, and seeking therapy. She also took a month off from modeling to focus on her faith during Ramadan.
