In the heart of luxury and finesse, Cartier has recently named the globally renowned K-pop sensation, Kim Taehyung – famously known as V from BTS – as the new face for its prestigious brand. This collaboration debuted with V as the face of Cartier’s latest campaign for the Panthère line, exuding an unprecedented amalgamation of Cartier‘s timeless artistry and V’s charismatic presence.
The photos of the campaign showcase the artist dressed in a radiant red suit jacket, complemented by a selection of exquisite Cartier jewelry. These pieces include a sculptural diamond ring, a tête-à-tête panther bracelet, the Révélation d’une Panthère watch, and a Panthère de Cartier necklace intricately crafted from white gold, diamonds, onyx, and emeralds.
Arnaud Carrez, the senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Cartier, spoke highly of V’s unique charm and individuality. “When we thought of a personality that embodied the magnetism and aura of the panther, our choice naturally gravitated towards V. His distinct style and elegance, along with his dynamic persona as a dancer, musician, and art lover, resonate with our brand’s ethos“, Carrez remarked.
In its official statement, Cartier noted that V’s “creative spirit and magnetic gaze” mirrored the panther’s mesmerizing appeal, making him an impeccable representative for the Panthère de Cartier jewelry creations. It further praised V as an influential figure, captivating a global audience with his unique voice, choreography, and fashion sense ever since he first set foot on the stage in 2013.
The timing of this alliance aligns with a strategic turn of events for the Cartier parent company, Richemont. Despite a slight dip of 2% in the sales in the Americas, the luxury conglomerate has recently reported an impressive growth, both in mainland China and the regions of Hong Kong and Macau.
This development comes on the heels of BTS announcing a hiatus in 2022, during which its members engaged with different brands. Notably, V also carries the title of a global ambassador for Celine, a role that has significantly impacted the brand’s popularity, attracting massive crowds at the brand’s Paris Fashion Week shows.
BTS’ V adds another feather to his cap by joining Cartier’s family of global ambassadors, which includes prominent K-pop star Jisoo from Blackpink.
