This Fall, Italian luxury fashion house Bottega Veneta embarks on a new olfactory journey with the launch of Creative director Matthieu Blazy’s first fragrance collection. With this launch, Bottega Veneta extends its creative heritage, celebrating the essence of Venice and the rich heritage of the brand’s signature Intrecciato leather weave. The collection marks a significant milestone as it follows the creation of Kering Beauté, an in-house beauty division of Bottega Veneta’s parent company, Kering. The collection, developed by the company’s in-house beauty division.
Blazy’s debut collection offers a sophisticated exploration of fragrance and includes five different scents. Each scent reflects the spirit of Venice – a city known for its intersection of culture and commerce.
The fragrances blend natural essences from around the world, creating a narrative that transcends geographical boundaries. Colpo di Sole, for example, combines the soothing qualities of French angelica oil with the rich aroma of Moroccan orange blossom. Meanwhile, Come with Me offers a vibrant fusion of Italian bergamot and French orris butter for an invigorating yet delicate experience.
For those who prefer a more earthy scent, Acqua Sale offers a blend of Spanish labdanum absolute with Macedonian juniper oil, evoking the timeless scent of the sea. Déjà Minuit offers a more exotic combination of Madagascan geranium and Guatemalan cardamom for a refined and seductive scent. Alchemy, the final fragrance, blends Brazilian pink pepper with Somali myrrh for a luxurious and opulent scent.
Blazy emphasizes the tactile experience of fragrance. The scents are meant to unfold with the wearer’s movements, revealing layers and depths that are intimate and unique. This philosophy extends to the design of the bottles, which are crafted to evoke the fluidity of Venice’s lagoon and the refinement of Bottega Veneta’s leather artistry.
Each bottle is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, with a translucent glass design that mimics the appearance of mouth-blown glass, complete with unique air bubbles – a nod to the Venetian glass-blowing traditions of Murano. Supported by a Verde Saint Denis marble base, the bottles reflect the luxurious architecture of Venice. The sculptural wooden cap pays homage to the wooden stilts that support Venetian palaces, adding an architectural elegance to the design.
Intended as a sustainable luxury, the bottles are refillable and made with 0% plastic, underscoring Bottega Veneta’s commitment to environmental responsibility. This collection will initially be available in approximately 100 Bottega Veneta boutiques in the Western world and selected parts of Asia, with a wider release planned for April 2025. The price is set at €390 euros for a 100 ml eau de parfum in Europe.
