British luxury brand JW Anderson has partnered with Guinness, the legendary Irish brewery, to create a limited-edition capsule collection. The collaboration, which made its debut during the Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 and Women’s Resort 2025 shows at Milan Fashion Week last June. This unexpected yet captivating collaboration blends high fashion sensibilities with the centuries-old tradition of brewing.
Jonathan Anderson, the visionary behind the eponymous label, brings a fresh perspective to Guinness’ rich visual archive. “I’ve always been obsessed with Guinness and their brand. I think they are still today one of the greatest advertisers, and I liked the idea of using their amazing graphics.”
The collection features four meticulously crafted pieces that celebrate Guinness’ storied advertising legacy. A black and white baseball t-shirt features a cheerful pint illustration accompanied by the nostalgic slogan “aren’t you glad you’ve had a Guinness.” The same whimsical design graces a premium black cotton sweatshirt featuring innovative “frothing pearls” embroidery spelling out the brewery’s name.
But the real gem of the collaboration is the exquisite knit merino wool sweater. This piece features the legendary Guinness harp emblem from Dublin’s St. James’s Gate, seamlessly integrated with JW Anderson’s contemporary logo – a perfect balance between tradition and modern design.
Anderson’s appreciation for Guinness’ pioneering approach to advertising is evident in his commentary: “I’ve always wanted to be able to show some of it because in fashion we think we are so radical but actually, they were way before all of that.”
The exclusive capsule is ready to greet fashion collectors at select JW Anderson flagship locations – London’s Soho, Milan’s fashion district, Tokyo’s vibrant Shibuya Parco – and through the brand’s digital flagship, jwanderson.com.
