The Proenza Schouler Spring/Summer 2026 offers a compelling glimpse into the brand’s future under its new Creative director. Although her official debut is set for Fall/Winter 2026, her influence is already apparent. Scott, founder of the highly regarded Diotima label, worked closely with the design team to delve deeply into the fashion house’s 23-year history.
Backstage, Scott shared her experience of stepping into the world built by founders Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. She studied the archives, focusing on the sharp tailoring, use of color, and distinctive patterns that define the brand. Her goal was to understand the core elements she wished to preserve while gently introducing her own perspective.
This thoughtful approach manifested in a collection with strong silhouettes. Classic Proenza Schouler designs were subtly updated with Scott’s touch. A gray tailored blazer featured frayed edges along the shoulders, and a white jacquard suit was inverted to expose its floats, adding unexpected texture and dimension. These details honor the original designs while signaling a new direction.

Color experimentation was also evident. The signature reds, blues, and yellows were presented alongside paler, diluted, or acidic variations. A standout piece was a sea glass green silk dress printed with a blurred chrysanthemum motif that felt both off-kilter and perfectly polished.
Scott’s expertise in artisanal crafts shone through. She reinterpreted the brand’s signature elements with her unique visual language, using techniques like laser-cutting coated cotton to create an “echo” of a print. This collection serves as a prelude, confirming that Scott understands what discerning women want in their wardrobes.
