British designer Phoebe Philo, known for her unique and transformative approach to womenswear, has just announced the second shipment of her first collection from her new signature fashion house. This launch will begin on November 28th, exclusively on phoebephilo.com.
The aura of mystery surrounding this latest collection only adds to the anticipation. While specific details of the second act remain closely guarded, we do know that it follows the remarkable success of the first shipment, which, as expected, sold out quickly. Philo’s approach, which eschews the traditional fashion calendar for a more fluid and seasonless release schedule, speaks volumes about her vision for a fashion industry that’s constantly evolving and always timeless.

Philo’s first shipment, part of what she calls “edit A1,” was perhaps the most talked-about womenswear collection of 2023. It was comprehensive, ranging from ready-to-wear to shoes, handbags, jewelry and eyewear. Prices reflected the exclusivity and high-end nature of the pieces: $1,400 USD to $2,400 USD for pants; $2,200 USD to $8,500 USD for dresses; $3,600 USD to $4,800 USD for knitwear; $3,600 USD to $4,500 USD for tailored jackets; $6,900 USD to $12,000 USD for leather jackets; and $16,500 USD to $25,000 USD for shearling jackets. Shoes range from $1,100 USD to $1,750 USD and handbags from $3,500 USD to $8,500 USD.
Remember, anticipation for this collection has been building since Philo announced her return to the fashion world in July 2021 with a new, independent house backed by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton as a minority investor. The move marks a significant comeback for one of the most revered and financially successful designers of her generation. Best known for rejuvenating the LVMH-owned Celine brand, Philo has always been a trendsetter. Her designs don’t just clothe the body, they speak to the soul, embodying a blend of modern sophistication and timeless elegance.
