Kei Ninomiya, the designer behind the fashion brand Noir, recently presented his latest collection at Le Marché des Blancs Manteaux, a market of white cloaks.
The show was an ode to vibrant color, with a series of holographic blooms kicking off the event. The designs were a combination of delicate flowers and thorny netting, while metal chains were infused with new life through the use of fluffy threads.
The headpieces, hair, and special effects make-up were all carefully crafted to complement Ninomiya’s designs, adding to the overall impact of the show. The season’s footwear was a collaboration with French brand Repetto, marking the designer’s first foray into the world of shoes.
Ninomiya’s primary focus has always been on exploring new concepts, and for this collection, he honed in on things he’d never done before, particularly the use of vivid color. Despite the brand’s name, black was used more as an accent than a dominant theme. The collection also featured an unusual amount of knits, from fishnet dresses to a fringed blanket jacket, offering a range of wearable options for the fashion-conscious.
After the show, there was much speculation about the meaning behind Ninomiya’s designs, with many interpretations ranging from neural networks to mycelium. However, the designer remained tight-lipped about the inspiration behind his creations. When asked about the collection, he simply replied, “Thank you“.
