In the ever-changing fashion landscape, K-pop icons have been securing ambassadorship deals with high-end brands with increasing frequency. Now, Dior, a paragon of luxury and elegance, turns its gaze towards Thailand to find fresh faces to represent its menswear line. The prestigious fashion house has welcomed Thai actors Nattawin Wattanagitiphat, widely known as Apo, and Phakphum Romsaithong, affectionately known as Mile, as the brand’s newest men’s ambassadors for the nation. They will be making their first appearance in these new roles at the Dior Men’s Spring/Summer 2024 show.
Exuding excitement about joining the esteemed brand, Mile expressed, “I am over the moon to join the Dior family as a house ambassador. Dior is such an iconic brand with rich history and timeless style, so I am excited to be a part of the family”. His co-star, Apo, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “Dior is a brand that I have always admired. I am honored to be a part of the Dior family”.
The duo’s rising fame is largely attributed to their roles in the mafia-themed romantic drama series “KinnPorsche“. This boy love drama has captivated audiences worldwide, leading to a fan base that stretches across continents, and even prompting a five-city Asia tour. They visited Singapore, Seoul (Korea), Manila (Philippines), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Taipei (Taiwan), riding on the wave of the series’ popularity.
With a massive following of over 3.5 million each on Instagram, Mile and Apo’s influence is undeniable. This digital prominence, combined with their on-screen charisma, makes them ideal candidates to represent a brand like Dior.
As Thailand emerges as a burgeoning market for luxury brands, Dior’s strategic move holds significant potential. The country’s luxury sector is predicted to be valued at $4.6 billion in 2023, with an expected annual growth rate of 5.6% through 2028.
Dior’s latest collection, crafted by Kim Jones, is set to be showcased on Friday. As the newest faces of Dior menswear, Apo and Mile’s debut on the fashion house’s global platform is highly anticipated. The duo’s representation signifies a promising shift in the fashion world, wherein Asian actors are recognized for their influence and style, reshaping the dynamics of the international luxury fashion landscape.
