Chanel‘s iconic fragrance N°5 enters a new era with Australian actress Margot Robbie as its face. The Oscar-nominated star teams up with “Euphoria” heartthrob Jacob Elordi in a mesmerizing short film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Luca Guadagnino for the latest Chanel N°5 campaign.
Robbie, who has been a Chanel ambassador since 2018, expressed her excitement for the prestigious role. “There’s such an impressive lineage of women who’ve been associated with the fragrance over the years. I am very honored to be joining that long list of incredible talents,” she said.
Guadagnino’s cinematic vision unfolds as a seemingly conventional love story that takes an unexpected turn. The film follows Robbie and Elordi as they embark on separate journeys to a planned rendezvous. Elordi rides his motorcycle while Robbie, dressed in a custom red tweed ensemble, drives her convertible after applying her signature scent, Chanel N°5.
The evocative soundtrack, featuring Daft Punk’s “Veridis Quo,” accompanies breathtaking coastal panoramas as the characters’ paths intertwine. However, their anticipated meeting doesn’t happen as planned. Instead, the narrative shifts focus to Robbie’s personal odyssey.
In the film’s poignant conclusion, Robbie emerges from the azure waters, basking in the sunlight. This powerful image suggests that her true destination was self-discovery, rather than a romantic encounter.
