The Winter 2025 issue of Vogue US celebrates the fusion of sports and fashion with two compelling covers. American track and field Olympian Gabby Thomas and professional basketball player Angel Reese each pose for individual covers photographed by Norman Jean Roy. Gabby Thomas is featured in crisp black-and-white photography. Styled by Yohana Lebasi, she wears a fringed Sportmax top paired with Tory Burch shoes (below). Angel Reese adds a vibrant touch in a ruby red Versace dress chosen by stylist Julia Sarr-Jamois (above).
For the cover story, Thomas and Reese are joined by American tennis player Frances Tiafoe. The athletes are styled in designs from top fashion labels including Loewe, Éterne, Stella McCartney, Jacquemus, Levi’s, Dunhill, Proenza Schouler, Bottega Veneta and Dior. Stylists Lebasi, Sarr-Jamois and Mobolaji Dawodu (for Tiafoe) worked together to create their looks.
Reese’s hair was styled by Lacy Redway, with make-up by Susie Sobol and manicures by Nori Yamanaka. Thomas was styled by Mideyah Parker, with make-up by Janessa Paré and manicure by Nori Yamanaka. Tiafoe’s grooming was done by Valissa Yoe. Boom Productions handled the production.
In an interview with Maya Singer, Reese and Thomas talk about how fashion and sports intersect in their lives. The conversation extends to Ib Kamara, Creative director at Off-White, and Kyle Smith, the NFL’s in-house fashion editor, to discuss the ongoing influence between the two industries.
