In the spirit of “New Beginnings”, the global theme of Vogue’s September 2021 issue, Vogue China spent several months scouting the country, and the globe, searching for the next generation of new faces – of diverse backgrounds, ages, sizes, stories. Among them is Vogue China’s September issue cover model – Fan Jinghan, a 19-year-old dance student at Beijing Sport University.
For the striking cover image, Jinghan is captured before the majestic mountains of Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park by photographer Hailun Ma, while wearing a Johannes Warnke dress. The sunshine in the background throws a golden halo on Fan’s forehead sends a message of vitality, hope, and strength while signaling a new dawn for the magazine.
For the cover story, Fan joins new others faces Ku ku, Winnie, Xia Yuanzen, Zhu Huiying, Luo Yi and Huo Jin. In charge of styling is Audrey Hu, with beauty from hair stylist Xueming Zhou and make-up artist Valentina Li.
