Returning to New York, the COS Fall/Winter 2025 collection presented a quiet yet strong vision of contemporary dressing. The presentation took place in a stark, white-washed warehouse on the Brooklyn waterfront. This industrial setting provided a dramatic backdrop for the 47 looks that walked the runway with confident ease. The collection itself was an exploration of reinventing classics through subtle shifts in shape and rich materials.

Creative director Karin Gustafsson spoke of a new, more waisted silhouette. This was evident in double-faced wool coats with slightly nipped-in forms that offered a gentle, sculptural appeal. Influences from the 1950s were seen in open necklines and feminine, cinched cuts. Yet, the overall feeling remained effortless—a core principle for the brand. Draped and caped silk garments provided fluidity against the structured pieces.

A key element was the interplay of soft and structured materials. Cozy shearling coats were layered over semi-sheer, mulberry silk turtlenecks with long, integrated scarves. Sleek leather jackets and capes were paired with breezy, crinkled satin sets. The sophisticated color palette featured deep shades of black, steel gray, and navy, accented by neutral tones and heritage checks on select items.

The focus of the menswear collection was functional and inventive tailoring. Classic shapes were modernized with oversized proportions and defined shoulders. The concept of a coordinated set was updated through tonal layering with matching fabrics. Utilitarian details, such as button-tab shoulders and functional pockets, gave the outfits a contemporary sense of practicality. Textured knits added warmth and a tactile dimension.

The grounded nature of the collection was reinforced by the footwear. Every polished look was paired with flats, ranging from simple suede sneakers and loafers to leather sock boots. This choice emphasized a realistic approach to dressing for a global customer base. Accessories mirrored the clothing in material and finish, including cool, crinkly clutches reminiscent of paper bags. Certain pieces are already available in stores, with more launching throughout the season.
