Casablanca’s Fall/Winter 2024 campaign is a captivating journey through time and style. Charaf Tajer, the brand’s Creative director, has masterfully blended luxury nostalgia with contemporary resort wear, creating a collection that is both timeless and forward-thinking. Inspired by the enduring appeal of ancient Greece and Rome, Tajer has created a visual spectacle that is as intellectually stimulating as it is aesthetically pleasing.
Frédéric de Pontcharra’s cinematography and the photographic duo of Corentin Leroux and Fiona Torre have brought Tajer’s vision to life in a truly extraordinary way. Titled “Venus as a Boy” after Björk’s iconic song, the campaign transports us to a world where ancient mythology meets modern luxury. Tajer’s vision, however, is not to simply recreate antiquity.
Instead, he reinterprets these foundational elements through a modern lens, creating a collection that feels both familiar and utterly fresh. The stark, chromatic beauty of the imagery is reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick’s cinematic masterpieces, while the collection’s bold reds evoke a sense of drama and intensity.
The campaign‘s styling, expertly executed by Helena Tejedor, showcases the collection‘s versatility. The models, including Georgia Palmer, Adam Castellano, Mamuor Majeng, Mary Ukech, Alex Consani, Rolf Schrader and Tida Rosvall, embody the spirit of both Greek gods and contemporary muses, their forms accentuated by the bold, architectural lines of the garments. The accompanying short film is a sensory experience, with its haunting electronic soundtrack and ethereal atmosphere. It invites us to enter a world of divine romance and timeless elegance.
Karim Belghiran was responsible for the hairstyling and Stephanie Kunz for the make-up. Set design by Felix Gesnouin and casting by Establishment New York.
