Unveiled in Shanghai, Feng Chen Wang‘s latest project with Audi reimagines the A7L model as a moving canvas. The specially designed white Audi A7L features a thoughtfully embossed exterior inspired by deconstructed shirt elements from both Eastern and Western traditions. Details include 18th century shirt gathering techniques, 19th century detachable collars and cuffs, and traditional Chinese shirt knots, all harmoniously integrated with Audi’s signature honeycomb grille motifs.
“The idea of a shirt exists in both Chinese and Western culture,” Wang explained at the unveiling event. “It’s a gender- and time-transcending wardrobe staple. To me, there is no better way to approach an item with infinite possibilities through a deconstructed lens.”

She described the three-year design process as an expression of breaking boundaries, a philosophy that has defined her runway presentations since 2016 on the Paris runway.
The striking white exterior wasn’t chosen at random. Wang revealed that she was inspired by the concept of “blank leaving” found in traditional Chinese paintings, reflecting a minimalist approach that allows space for imagination.
With the custom Audi A7L, Wang becomes the first Asian fashion designer to collaborate with Audi in its 116-year history. Following its debut at a Western-style mansion in downtown Shanghai, the car will be showcased at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition before touring major Chinese cities.
In addition to the car, Wang has created a limited-edition capsule collection for Audi featuring four distinctive pieces: a white shirt adorned with Audi‘s honeycomb grille pattern, an innovative 3D-printed bag, a bolo tie and a key chain.
