“I am always interested in the evolution of design ideas, creating an aesthetic that is founded in form and function. This season, we worked closely with adidas to create our first sole“, shared Craig Green, who expressed his excitement for the groundbreaking venture.
Reflecting upon the unique blend of two brands, the ergonomic sole fuses the iconic adidas 3-Stripes and Green’s signature quilting, providing an unprecedented aesthetic continuity.
The Scuba Phormar, true to its name, takes inspiration from scuba footwear’s functionality and comfort. Its novel sole design, marked by ridged textures, snugly encapsulates the foot. This element doesn’t just offer a sleek look but also mirrors the recognizable motifs of adidas and Craig Green.
A step further in innovation is the shoe’s upper, showcasing Green’s unique exploration of cording. With a design inspired by collapsible structures, the cording system creates a complex network of tunnels and cords, introducing a new level of dynamic adaptability to the shoe’s structure. The detailing of the cords, their interaction, and the revolutionary branding tab are fascinating, offering both an aesthetic edge and a functional purpose.
Furthermore, the shoes offer innovative lacing detail, boasting the adidas‘ 3-Stripes tips and the iconic Trefoil badge.
